'Im Dystopia’ is a series of ambient music shows delving into the vast expanse of the universe through a blend of old and new, tranquil and powerful music.
Throughout science fiction, there’s a fascination in humanity's attempts to envision our future among the stars. This fascination isn't new; ancient civilizations crafted myths and legends around celestial bodies, reflecting our enduring curiosity about the cosmos.
While dystopia is a common theme in sci-fi lore, it is being used here as a starting point to explore broader concepts. Space is a dynamic mix of grandeur and chaos, with moments of both motion and stillness. This series aims to capture that diverse spectrum, playing with release and tension in the music.
Konstantinos, aka Thaddeus, specialises in ambient music, drawing inspiration from his deep admiration for space, science fiction and futurism. Originally from Greece, he began his musical journey at 13, honing his skills in music theory and composition.
Relocating to London in 2011, Konstantinos immersed himself in music production and the performing arts scene, showcasing his talents as a composer and electronic music performer. His move to Brooklyn in 2018 further expanded his musical horizons, leading to an evolution in his live performances characterised by the use of synthesisers, drum machines, and improvisation.
In Berlin since 2021, Konstantinos shares his perspective on ambient music through his Im Dystopia series and subsequent releases, influenced by iconic soundtracks like Blade Runner and the innovative work of musicians such as Brian Eno, Steve Roach and many more.
